Judge Tench was born in Gainesville, Florida, in 1919. He received his B.A. in 1941 from the University of Florida and his LL.B. in 1947 from the University of Virginia. Judge Tench served as Circuit Judge for the Eighth Judicial Circuit from 1973 to 1999.
