2001 Selig Goldin Honoree
Ms. Reno was born in Miami in 1938. She received her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in 1960, and her LL.B. degree from Harvard University in 1963. In 1971, Ms. Reno was named staff director of the Florida House of Representatives Judiciary Committee. Subsequently, Ms. Reno became the first woman Attorney General of the United States on March 12, 1993, and served in that position from 1993 until 2001.
