Thursday, June 23, 6:30–8:00 PM Scholarship Awards Reception honoring the two recipients of the Criminal Law Section’s inaugural Student Scholarship Awards. The cash scholarship is awarded to incoming third-year law students at Florida law schools who have shown dedication to and interest in the criminal justice system as trial and appellate practitioners. The CLS Awards Committee narrowed down the batch of nearly two dozen applicants to just five on which the Executive Council could vote. Students Gina Calta (Nova Southeastern University) and Peter Chan (University of Florida) were chosen for the scholarship awards. The reception is in the Lake meeting room, which is on the ground floor, and the awards presentation starts at 7:00 PM.
