Bio:Judge Klindt was sworn in as a United States Magistrate Judge on October 31, 2007. Prior to that, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) from December 1988 until October 30, 2007. During his almost nineteen years as a federal prosecutor, he focused on drug, public corruption, and civil rights cases. He also served as the Deputy Managing AUSA in Jacksonville (1999-2002), the First AUSA (2002-2007), and the Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida (2007). He graduated from Florida State University College of Law with high honors, where he served as the Article and Notes Editor of the Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Howell W. Melton, United States District Judge, from September 1986 to September 1988. Prior to law school, Judge Klindt taught elementary school for seven years.
